PG Dip Psychosynthesis Counselling
In my one to one work I help adults to find their own way through times of difficulty and crisis, and in the process, to learn and grow from their experience. I have often found that depression, anxiety and other painful feelings, if listened to and processed, can herald the start of a new and fruitful life stage.
Who I work with
I work one to one with adults of all ages
Training, Qualifications and Experience
I have been in practice since qualifying in 2010. I came to this work after many years in organisations as a coach, trainer, and consultant specialising in working with conflict and change. As a counsellor I have worked with young people in a school setting, in a service for older people, in a service for carers, and in private practice. Sometimes the work has been short term / time limited and sometimes longer term.
My approach is integrative, meaning I can use elements from different approaches to support our work. My core Diploma training was in Psychosynthesis, a holistic framework which gives a key place to creativity and the imagination, the wisdom of our body as well as our mind, seeing them as routes to our inner wisdom and sense of purpose.
Since qualifying I have undertaken further training including Cognitive Behaviour Therapy, Mindfulness, Compassion-focused Therapy, body and imagery-based approaches to trauma healing. All these may play a part in how we work together, this is ultimately down to your own aims and the way you would like to work.
